Growing up in North Carolina, Twizzlers and store brand were the only options. I don't recall seeing Red Vines for the first time until going to Washington during the summer of 2003. I'm pretty sure Red Vines are available here now though. I think Twizzlers have a little more flavor but I like the texture of Red Vines better. Some Twizzlers have the texture of gummy bears
