Another one leg (flight) day today. Plane broke on the way into Lebanon, New Hampshire. The plane has an ice detector on the side of the nose that vibrates at a certain frequency and if the frequency of that vibration changes it sends us an "ICE CONDITION" message. We had all the ice protection stuff on to get the wings, tail, and engine inlets warmed up before we entered a cloud layer. A few seconds after we entered the cloud layer, we got the ice condition message and a few seconds after that, we got an "ICE DET FAIL" (Ice Detector Fail) message. We landed and called the company and they grounded the airplane.

We were supposed to be taking people to Tampa, Florida and they arrived early but were extremely understanding (which is almost an understatement) about the situation. Their recovery aircraft got to Lebanon about 1.5 hrs after their original departure time and they left about 15-20 minutes later.

When an issue comes up that delays an owner, you never know how they are going to take it and some owners get extremely upset and will curse you out and call you every name in the book in the middle of the FBO. This particular group made no complaints whatsoever about the delay, which makes everything so much easier to deal with.

Flying home tomorrow for maybe a day, maybe more, depending on if I get called for jury duty. (I got the summons about a month ago.

I haven't used Castro much. I've gotten so used to the trim silence and voice boost in Overcast and Pocket Casts and it's hard for me to use an app that doesn't have them.
//

@skematica I like Overcast betyer, for small reasons. Pocket Casts does not allow you to download a podcast episode without subscribing to that podcast (at least I haven't figured out how) whereas Overcast does. I also like Overcast's now playing screen and the way it displays information better than Pocket Casts. Overcast shows Artwork, descriptions, chapters, and show notes as one scrolling list with the playback controls always visibile at bottom and I like that much more than the card system Pocket Casts uses.

//

@skematica I've been swapping between Overcast and Pocket Casts.

I agree. For me, the extra $10 was worth it for what I got. If it was an extra $20 or more, I would have stayed on the plan I had.

@kdfrawg It was pretty much a no-brainer. Definitely worth it

I normally ignore marketing gimmicks but I got an email from Verizon yesterday with an offer of an extra 2 GB per smartphone line if I changed to the "new" Verizon Plan. I was on the "old/original" Large Verizon Plan ( with 6 GB of data. I switched to the "new" large plan which has 8 GB of data (with rollover) plus the extra 4 GB (2 GB each for my and my wife's line). So basically, I doubled the amount of data we get per month for an additional $10/mo, which is the only reason I did it.

@kdfrawg That's held together with bailing wire and duct tape and some chewing gum.
